Mark Smith

General Manager – Sales

 

A much valued and respected manager who has a passion for achieving professional and personal goals.

 

Mark joined ActionStep in 2008 from GE Energy where he had been successfully leading the Asia Pacific software business. Having joined Smallworld in 1999, a start-up software business that had grown into a NASDAQ listed company, Mark headed up the telecommunications segment for GE Energy across the Asia region. GE acquired Smallworld in 2000 and Mark held a number of roles focussed on growing direct sales and delivery capability in Singapore, China, Korea and Japan; as well as developing in-direct sales channels in most other Asian countries.

 

Prior to GE from 1996 - 1999 Mark lived and worked in Indonesia as General Manager for a United States based direct marketing company establishing profitable subsidiaries in both Indonesia and India. Mark has also spent three years working in investment banks in London and traveling in Europe; commencing his working career with seven years of sales and marketing with IBM in New Zealand.

 

Having been in P&L leadership positions within large multi-national organisations for more than 12 years, Mark brings proven business acumen together with an innate understanding of the positive and negative effects process can have on the success of a company.
