Actionstep Data Exporter Service
Actionstep offers a daily data extract that will allow for data from your Actionstep database to be extracted via a downloadable link within your Actionstep system.

The following data fields can be exported:
- Matters (includes metadata such as the date created, type, current step, last activity, etc)
- Participants linked to a Matter
- Names of Matter types (workflows)
- Custom values for contacts that are saved to a matter or to the contact record
- Client billing invoices, including amounts, status, etc
- Fee and expense allocation to fee earners on billing invoices
- Contact record linked to matters and time entries
- Time entries
- List of participant types in the system
- A separate table is created for each custom data collection, defined for each matter type (also known as a workflow)
How it works:
To activate the service, a user with account authority should contact Actionstep Support and ask to install the Custom Reporting Plugin (Actionstep Data Exporter Service). Once installed you will see a new menu item under Admin > Plugins, and this is where you can specify which database format to use and set a password to protect the download file. The file will be generated after the nightly backup process has run and you will find a download link on this page once it has been completed. The data can be securely downloaded as a SQL file in Microsoft SQL-Server, Azure SQL, or PostgreSQL formats. The file will be refreshed every 24 hours with new data.
