Actionstep is a fast-growing tech firm, with a global customer base and team. We are expanding our product marketing team to support business growth and currently recruiting for a product marketing manager/specialist to drive the awareness & adoption of our products in the US legal market.

This role would be ideal for legal marketing managers looking for to move to the tech industry or experienced legal marketing specialists looking for a step up to manager level in a different industry.

We are looking for an experienced product marketing manager/specialist to shape and drive marketing across key markets. This is a new role within the US team – it’s an opportunity to build great US marketing practices, with guidance from HQ marketing, and be part of the success of a growing technology business as we continue to expand our footprint in international markets. Reports to the VP, North America and our global marketing leader.

A WHOLE LOT OF TEAMWORK

Work collaboratively with our international product marketing team, product development team and US sales teams to design & deliver a comprehensive product marketing program to support US lead generation, nurture happy customers and anticipate the future product needs of our customers. We are looking for a self-starter who is enthusiastic about the possibilities for change in the legal sector and comfortable contributing at both a strategic and operational level.

THE ROLE: COMBINE CREATIVITY & FOCUS

Product campaign design & delivery: Use customer insights, product knowledge and brand messaging to build marketing campaigns for key segments. Set clear KPIs for all channels, A/B test and pivot tactics as needed. Deliver transparent progress updates internally.

Product communications: Develop & execute product communications for current customers and potential customer on product upgrades, releases, features and changes. Create new product/feature launches across channels and tie into tradeshow schedules. Develop strong links with industry rating and review bodies.

Inbound marketing: Map customer journeys through product lead cycle. Create ITTT action & content plans to support lead generation (leveraging HubSpot). Maintain daily contact with sales team on lead status, nurturing and next steps.

Content development: Work closely with marketing team and external agencies on content development highlighting messaging and product benefits in a variety of formats (e.g. written, graphical, video, 3rd party sponsored) to feed inbound marketing processes.

Product toolkits: Develop segment specific product toolkits for each product tier including: Brand & product messaging, Key benefits/differentiators, Clear use cases and buyer personas, Competitor comparisons, Product tech spec sheets & tip sheets, Testimonials (Video/written) & Success stories, Tailored product tour videos

Customer experience: Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer product experience across multiple channels and customer touch points. Monitor customer product lifecycles. Devise marketing interventions where there are weak points / opportunities.

Customer engagement systems: Stay close to client product needs, working closely with customer support team, by regularly seeking engagement and sharing feedback internally and externally (e.g. surveys, interviews, product use analysis) to understand product use, pain-points, benefits and changing requirements

Pricing & profitability: Use competitor product pricing analysis, customer feedback and product value comparisons to inform product pricing levels and articulate relative value. Analyze customer and product profitability to inform strategy.

Team management: Nurture the skills of the current marketing resources and manage new members as they join the US team.

Requirements

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in a legal marketing role OR 5+ Years in similar product marketing role in product / SaaS business

  • Experience managing business development systems or product lead generation and qualification via inbound marketing

  • Experience creating inbound campaigns

  • High level presentation creation skills

  • Demonstrated written communication skills and ability to articulate business benefits of product use

  • Experience using analytical tools and reporting systems

  • Working knowledge of digital channels and tools

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field

  • Management experience
